For the first time, the Professional Championship in Entrepreneurship was held at the SwissSkills from September 7 - 11, 2022 in Bern. Eight teams from all regions of Switzerland took on the challenge of developing a business idea that takes into account a Sustainable Development Goa
Over the four days of competition, the 19 finalists took on the following challenge, along with small challenges in between:
Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Ensure healthy lives for all people of all ages and promote their well-being. Develop a business idea that promotes healthy living and that fits a sub-goal of SDG 3.
In addition to the business idea, including budgeting and market clarification, the finalists were challenged with intermediate challenges, such as a fun selfie contest. On each evening, the coaches evaluated the teams' results and on Saturday, the teams were allowed to present their business idea and face a question and answer session with the three-member jury. The jury, consisting of Matthias Peterhans (CEO CAScination), Sandra Schnyder (VR and Managing Director Shaperion AG) and Michael Koch (Co-Founder & CEO HYLL), joined the teams only on the day of the finals and was thus able to evaluate the results without any stress and created a lot of tingling among the finalists.
The spectrum of ideas ranged from a program for sex education at secondary level, to recycling optimization in Ghana, to an emotion reader for people with Asperger's syndrome.
On Saturday evening, the EntrepreneurSkills finalists met for the medal ceremony, where the three top finishers received congratulations from Guy Parmelin (Federal Councillor, Head of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research).
Initiative Switzerland congratulates the team of Raymond Tea and Ralf Boltshauser, who won the professional championship with their business idea of an app that makes it possible to make a goal a habit. Congratulations also to the other finalists, who developed exciting ideas and convinced with entrepreneurial thinking in their presentations. We are excited to see where the journey of the young entrepreneurs will take them.
